A Soapy Affair

We had a little bit of science fun over the weekend experimenting with soaps. Although it was stated to be suitable for 10 years old & above but under proper adult supervision, I felt my 6 years old & 8 years old were handling the instructions quite well.

The full sets of materials & a pair of disposable gloves was included in the box too.

We could do different types of soap but I decided to let them do the most basic & simple type first. Put the required amount of glycerin soap into an empty plastic container & put into the microwave for 20 seconds.

Poured the same amount (about 15ml each) of melted glycerin soap into the other 3 smaller containers.

You could mix & match different scents & colours according to your preference.

YQ chose yellow colour with lavender scent.

Stirred the content together until everything was consistent.

Before the liquid turned back to solid form, quickly poured it into the mould.

Let it cooled by itself or put it into the fridge for a while, the soaps will be ready in no time!

p/s: This is not a sponsored post, we bought the Luxury Soap Science Lab set for the kids for educational purposes :)
